Department of Speech Language and Hearing Sciences and Vidyasudha, Early Intervention Centre for children with special needs, Sri Ramachandra University is organizing a seminar on “Facilitating communication in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)”. This will be held on the 25th and 26th of February 2011 at the Dental college auditorium, Sri Ramachandra University, Porur, Chennai. This seminar will focus on speech, language and communication impairments in children with autism spectrum disorders and intervention. Eminent and experienced speech language therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and special educators in the city will be sharing their experiences and delivering lectures on speech and communication management.

This seminar has been organized to sensitize professionals, special educators and parents about speech and communication impairments in children with ASD and ways to facilitate speech and communication in class room and home. This seminar has an interactive session on “Language in communication and Academics”. A panel of experts will answer participant’s queries on communication management. It will be a great opportunity for participants to clarify their queries and doubts regarding communication management.
