The department is offering a four year B.Sc. (Hons) program in Biomedical Science. Our aim is to produce highly trained and skilled biomedical scientists who have flexible career opportunities, and can make valuable contribution to continuing growth in medical knowledge and to the future of development of new diagnostic tools, understanding the underlying mechanism(s) of action of various drugs and modulating their action using molecular methods, computer designing and gene therapy. The students can also be absorbed as highly skilled technologist and Scientists in several R&D Pharmaceutical companies, Genetics, Diagnostic laboratories, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics laboratories.
The program offers the students an opportunity to get trained in the trust areas of millennium in the medical field of Bioinformatics, Biotechnology &Human Genetics. The students study wide range of subjects covering Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy, Genetics, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Tissue engineering, Bioinstrumentation and Bioinformatics. Under the choice based system, students also have the flexibility to choose between wide varieties of courses. A strong broad comprehensive understanding of biomedical research, reinforced by a strong practical laboratory component fosters a congenial environment and opening to pursue higher degree and employment. The alumni of this programme are doing higher studies in India and around the world including USA, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Australia, Singapore and Canada.
