1. Reference Service
The Library Staff at the Reference & Information Desk will be able to provide you with information on library services and basic assistance with catalogue usage, databases, general reference works etc.
External users are allowed to use the Library for reference provided they produce some form of identification that includes the address.
Admission to the Library is restricted to members of this university, but others who wish to access library resources may do so with the permission of the Librarian. Central Library reserves the right to refuse entry without explanation. Non-members have to pay necessary fees for referring as decided by the University from time to time.

Weekdays : 08:00 – 22:00 hrs.
Holidays : 08:00 - 20:00 hrs.
2. Reprographic Service (Photo Copying)
Photo copying services are located inside of the Central Library
Working Hours
Week Days : 09:00 - 21:00 hrs.
Holidays : 09:00 - 20:00 hrs.
Copyright regulations must be observed at all times.
3. Digital Library
The Digital Library contains an extensive collection of educational videos, CD ROMs, DVDs etc. There are facilities for individuals as well as for small groups to watch video material. The Digital Library is open during normal library hours and the library staff will coordinate with the users.
4. Automation Activities
A number of servers and workstations are installed in the University Central Library for Modernizing and Automation of the Library operations and Services. The Library resources have been computerized using in house developed software and is fully automated.
5. On-line Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) Service
The computerized bibliographic details of the books, theses, reports, etc. are available in the library through the OPAC (On-line Public Access Catalogue) service. Two computer systems are provided to the users of the library for this service. The users can search the databases in different ways like.
- Author
- Title
- Subject
- Classification
- Words within title
- Any other Keywords using Boolean Operators
In addition to that, the availability of journal’s issues and bound volumes are also obtained using the OPAC service.
6. E-Resources (On-line) Access & Internet Service
- E-Resources are the result of rapid development of Internet facility in the Libraries. It is most useful to the Research Scholars and other users of the library. The scholarly resources are available on-line can be browsed and searched in different ways and thereby save the search time of the users.
- Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University)'s subscribed/purchased e-resources can be accessed freely.
- Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University) Central Library is Wi-Fi enabled with 1 Mbps and 1Gb internet connectivity. The library is providing full time browsing facility/internet connectivity for the users.
- More than Sixty Five computers with latest technology systems are provided to the users of the library to access the above facilities. All the on-line resources are available in our I.P. Address only and these can browsed remotely anywhere through ezproxy by the members.
