VISION 2020 :
To be a state of art training centre and a Model Institute for training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the country.
To train students to be confident, efficient clinicians, in their area of study and expertise.
Plans in the Next academic Year:
Practice of medicine and surgery is more dependent on technology for better patient care and success. Skill Lab is a set up for training residents in all aspects of technology related to management of a patient. The following skill labs will take the level of training to a higher level at par with western universities.
1. Craniomaxillofacial trauma skill Lab
2. Orthognathic Surgical Skill Lab
3. Oral Implantology Skill Lab
4. CMF Distraction Osteogenesis Skill Lab
Teaching,learning and evaluation:
- In the area of teaching Complete set of lectures covering the undergraduate syllabus has been planned to have uniformity and completeness in the topics covered.
- Training in Basic Life Support and to manage medical emergencies in dental office is made mandatory to all BDS students.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is made compulsory to all Post graduate trainees Student support and progression.
- Mentorship programmes in place for the undergraduates are strengthened to be more effective.
