Investiture Ceremony Student Council 2019-2020

Summary of the Session
On July 2^nd, the investiture ceremony of the new student council 2019-20 for SRIHER took place at the University auditorium. The programme started on an auspicious note by seeking the blessings of the Almighty in the form of a devotional prayer song by Ms. Shwetha.V. Kumar and Ms. Naveena. G from 3rd year M.B.B.S., followed by the SRIHER Anthem. The festivities continued with a mystifying classical dance performances from Ms. Salikaa, Ms. Nisha, Ms. Anu Sigappi, Ms. Keerthana.K, Ms. Aakriti, and Ms. Poornima of 2nd year M.B.B.S., adding grace to the occasion.

A warm welcome address was given by our ever smiling Dr. Leena Dennis Joseph, Assistant Dean of Students, creating a homely ambience. Thus setting the mood for the function. Dr. K. Balaji Singh, Dean of Students, addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of the student council and their duties giving a wonderful start for the coming year with his exuberant speech and presence.

The ex-President of the student council 2018-19, Mr. Aditya. J. P, CRRI M.B.B.S., took a walk-down-memory lane by listing the achievements of the previous year, setting high-standards and handing over the torch of legacy and responsibilities to the newly elected student council team members 2019-20. Then the charismatic Ms. Shree Krishnamoorthy, Final year M.B.B.S., President of the new student council formally introduced the highly energetic team members. Filled with a kaleidoscope of mixed emotions of joy, pride, honour and at the same time being grounded by new ideas and responsibilities for a great year ahead the team collected the badges from Dr. P. V. Vijayaraghavan, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. S. Anandan, Dean of Medical college, Dr. K. Balaji Singh, Dean of Students. The whole event was captured-in-time by Mr. Anand. A quick formal photo session of the past and the present council members with the honourable dignitaries presiding the function was photographed and recorded for future references.
The function continued with a soulful musical performance by Mr. Veerabadren Mylappan on the keyboard and Mr. Alen Jiji Tom on the violin from 3rd year M.B.B.S.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by the ever friendly and approachable Dr. Jonua Fernandes, CRI B.D.S., who thanked the administration for their support and the members of student council 2018-19 for their wonderful team work. He thanked the Vice Chancellor, the eminent Deans of SRIHER, Assistant Deans and Faculty members, parents and students for having graced this investiture ceremony.
