Lumiere 2019

“Dreams don’t work unless you do”. Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research proudly presented its Annual cultural Fest “LUMIERE 2019”. Lumiere 2019 was a 6 day cultural festival which was held from 9th September 2019 to 14th September 2019.This festival saw a participation of over 15 colleges of the University which under a single roof displayed their talents and skills in various genres. The event was organised by students of SRIHER

Our Sport’s event, SEISMOS was inaugurated on 16th August 2019.Our Guest of Honour was Mrs. Arul Selvi, only woman player who won gold medal in National Games for 7 occasions. She created history by representing Tamil Nadu women Table Tennis team in the national Inter state championship for 22 years. She was ranked No.1 in the country in women events. The event was also graced by our beloved Vice Chancellor Dr.P.V.Vijayaraghavan, Our Dean of Students Dr.K.Balaji Singh, Associate Dean of Students Dr.Leena Dennis Joseph and assistant deans.The event ended with a march past by all the Participating Departments and a special act by some record holders of our University. The qualifiers were held from 17th August 2019.The Semifinals and finals were held simultaneously with the Culturals from 9th September 2019.

DAY 1 (9th September 2019)

Started with our Cultural Magazine “CADUCEUS” releasing ceremony which was held outside the Auditorium. The event was graced by our Vice Chancellor Dr.P.V.Vijayaraghavan, Dr.K. V. Somasundaram, Professor of Eminence, Our Dean of Students Dr.K.Balaji Singh, Associate Dean and Assistant Deans of all departments of the University.


The magazine was released by our Vice Chancellor Dr.P.V.Vijayaraghavan.The coverpage of the Magazine was by Gladius and the backpage of the Magazine was by Illuminati.The theme for the Magazine was Kaleidoscope of Varying Diversities.

The Magazine releasing event was followed by the Cultural events starting with the Duel of Voices where the singers across the University exhibited their talents.The main highlights of the day were the the first time introduced Street dance,Rap Battle,Canvas Painting. This time even an online event called Digibrush was introduced which gave the digital designers of our university a chance to showcase their digital canvas skills. The events ended by 4pm.


DAY 2 (10th September 2019)

The day started with the biggest dance faceoff,our Dance Battle in the Main Auditorium followed by various events like Taal se Taal,Adzap,Shipwreck,First ever Rangmanch(Mime). Our first ever Sriher Got Talent was a big hit.

DAY 3 (11th September 2019)
Day 3 witnessed few events compared to first two days.The events were more of Literary and speaking genres.

DAY 4 (12th September 2019)

The day started with the inauguration of our three major fests. The Event was graced by our our Vice Chancellor. Dr.P.V.Vijayaraghavan, Dr.K. V. Somasundaram, Professor of Eminence, Our Dean of Students Dr.K.Balaji Singh, Associate Dean and Assistant Deans of all departments of the University.A dance performance depicting Goddess Shakti was performed by Vikashini of Salvadors Batch.There was special band performance by Tanmoy Acharya, Veerabadren, Alen, Aishwarya Mohan and Boonson and Veena performance by Vasudha, Naveena, Soundharya of Salvadors (Organising Batch) and Live on stage painting by Soumya Shukla.


The Inauguration was followed by our first ever full fledged Theatre fest “SPOTLIGHT”. Total of 17 teams participated and displayed their acting Skills. The event was judged by the Mr.Dileep who is into Theatre for last 15 years, Mr.Malamurugan. There was a special performance by Mr.Dileep and team. The festival was graced by the celebrities from the tamil TV industry, Tamil actor Mr.Kaali Venkat. PG dawns were declared the winners.The best actor Male and Female was backed by the PG Dawns and Illuminati Respectively.

DAY 5(13th September 2019)

The day started with our much awaited Mr. and Ms. SRIHER which was held from 9:30 am to 12pm.The event had three round with a surprise round of mono act play.Ayush from Mafia and Aishwarya from Wizards were declared as Mr. and Ms.Sriher respectively.

Following this our Music Fiesta “ENCORE” was started which gave the bands of our University to strike the chords and display their musical talents. The performances were Judged by Mr.Matt bacon (Guitarist,Professor) and Ms.Divya Iyer (Vocalist) from the renowed A.R.Rahman School of Music.Pioneers were declared the winners.The event was graced by celebrities from Music Industry Like Mr.Anand Arvindakshan (Indian playback Singer) and Shabir(national award winning Music Director).There was a special performance by our judges.

DAY 6(14th September 2019)

The day started with the closing ceremony “INCANDESCENCE”,which was made remarkable by the host performances by Salvadors and special dance performances by students of all departments.There was even a special performance by the University fashion Team.

The event was followed by our dance festival “BAILA”.The festival witnessed scintillating performances by the dancers across various departments.The event was Judged by Johny master from Tamil film Industry and Mr.Jeeva from OPM Dance Academy.There was a special performance by Judges and also the organising batch Salvadors. The event was graced by Playback singer Ms.Aishwarya Ravichandran, Former Bigg Boss(Tamil) contestant Ms.Aishwaya Dutta and Mr.World 2018 held in China Mr.Manikandan.Mafia were the winners.

We had a farewell ceremony for our MBBS Interns(Xanthrons)

The Valedictory function was held after the Dance festival.Our Guest of honour was Mr.S.A. Chandrasekhar (Indian film director) and proud father of our Thalapathy Mr.J.Vijay.Mafia were declared the Overall Winners.The runner up team first and second were Pioneers and Roukans respectively.
