Teachers Day Report 5th September 2019

The annual Teacher’s Day fest was held on the 5^th of September 2019, in the side auditorium. The occasion was graced by the presence of eager, cheerful teachers strolling in the afternoon by leaving their fingerprints on a painting of a tree. The theme of the event was ‘A Walk Down Memory Lane’ to reminisce their ‘Back to school’ days. As the teachers entered, they were asked to place their fingerprints on a canvas which had a blank tree without the leaves. The finger prints they imprinted were made to look as the leaves of the tree. The Student Council had prepared several game stalls such as Minute-to-Win It, Paper Toss and Bingo. The attending faculty participated enthusiastically and let themselves loose for a day. An exclusive tattoo art stall was kept wherein the teachers walked in and had their favorite tattoos done. The tattoos were hand painted by a member of the student council as well. A photo booth with several props was set up where the staff could take different pictures which created memories worth framing.

The main events of the day started with a throwback movie screening of 90’s hit movie scenes wherein the teachers relived their childhood memories. The teachers were also provided with roasted peanuts to munch on. Games were organized for the teachers wherein they competed against each other with flying paper planes, eat-o-mania and cover your record.

A fashion show was conducted with the aim to have them re enact scenes from their favourite movies by portraying a famous character followed by a ramp walk. The teachers who participated in the event were beautifully dressed like their favorite movie stars. They then actively took part in the competition by later explaining why that specific character was their favorite. A video made by the council which showed students from various departments thanking their teachers with a personal message was shown to them as well.

There was a flash mob performed by the Student Council members as a token of appreciation to the teachers. Following that, we had an exclusive quiz competition where the faculties were divided into 6 teams and different rounds of quiz took place. All the teachers present there were grossly involved in the event and participated with immense excitement. Overall, it was an experience the teachers wouldn’t forget and would look back on with a smile.

A group picture of the various faculty members with the respective Deans and the Assistant deans was taken. A picture of the Student Council members was also then taken with the faculties. The event ended on an energetic note where the teachers danced to their heart’s content on the dance floor. The feedback the council received from the faculty was that they had felt like they were back in their own school days.
