Teachers Day at SRMC (5th Sept 2018)

We celebrate Teachers’ day every year throughout the country on 5th September. Students express their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers on this day. This day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – second President of India.

The celebration in honor of our mentors, guides, our beloved teachers was organized by the college student council held at the university auditorium. A fun filled day was meticulously planned with the theme being ‘A Walk Down Memory Lane’.

The teachers were given a chance to unwind and remember their childhood with an array of fun games ranging from the pin the tail… To Pictionary…With a modern touch in the game Heads Up, for the adventures fanatics’ balloon shooting and throwing the dart was organized.

Apart for the games, loads of munching options were arranged too which included pizzas, burgers, juices, and ice creams, which were thoroughly enjoyed by the faculty and students alike.

The Highlight of the event was a ‘Retro Themed’, Fashion and Talent show, which received a warm response from the teachers, with teacher participants coming in good numbers. Initially the participants’ did a ramp walk, with each teacher participant receiving a huge cheer from the student audience which were left in awe after seeing their teachers’ in such colorful retro outfits.

The talent show was the part of the program which left all those people attending speechless, with dance performance to singing to instrumentals, student -teacher body witnessed the immense talent their mentors and colleagues possess.
Like every competition has a winner, the fashion and talent show, saw Mr.Sivasubramanian (dept.of Microbiology) and Dr. Vidya Ramkumar ( dept. of Speech therapy) winning the contest.

The program was a real good opportunity for the students to give back something to the human beings who not only give the knowledge of the subject, but also mould them into professionals who can go out and face the world and shine.
The student council worked with the guidance of their beloved Dean of students Dr.K.Balaji Singh, Assistant dean of students, Dr.Leena D.Joseph, Dr.Pankaj.B.Shah, Dr.Naveen Alexander,Dr.Sumathy and Dr.Vignesh ,whose immense faith and constant guidance helped to make this program a grand success.
