BACHELOR OF PHYSIOTHERAPY(BPT)
An Undergraduate in Physiotherapy is to impart in-depth knowledge and skill to a student to become competent in the physical diagnosis techniques and to develop the proper attitude  towards the  practice of physiotherapy and carry out the treatment.

Duration:  4 years course + 6 months Internship
Annual Intake: 100
Eligibility: HSC Examination (Academic Stream) of 10+2 curriculum / CBSE / ISC English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or Botany and Zoology.

MASTER IN PHYSIOTHERAPY (MPT)
Duration:
2 years
Annual intake: 30
Eligibility: Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree certificate with not less than 3 and 1/2 years duration (including 6 months of internship) from any university through full-time contact program or equivalent degree from any other recognized university.

Candidates who have passed BPT from any other University should obtain eligibility certificate from the concerned authorities of the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University).

Ph.D
27 years of academics and clinical excellence has paved the way for providing part-time and full-time doctoral studies. Four candidates from the department had completed part-time PhD and 12 part-time and 2 full-time candidates are pursuing doctoral studies.
Eligibility: Candidates with Master of Physiotherapy can go through Ph.D regulations on Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research website regarding eligibility for both part-time and full-time PhD.

At the end of the completion of Bachelor of Physiotherapy
Undergraduate students will be able to
  • Acquire adequate knowledge of the basic medical subjects in the practice of
     physiotherapy.
  • Develop skills and techniques for the management of various medical and surgical conditions.
  • Develops a proper attitude for compassion and concern for the community.
At the end of the completion of Master of Physiotherapy
Postgraduate students will be able to
  • Demonstrates skill in teaching, management, research, guidance and counseling.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of clinical science to problem-solving.
  • Gather and interpret information within a holistic framework.
  • Design, implement and monitor appropriate therapeutic programmes.
  • Apply scientific principles to the concepts of health, illness and disability.
  • Appraise the social and political context of health care.
  • Undertake independent research projects

Skill enhancement program: Ergonomics and Health Promotion
(Offered under choice based credit system to other departments)
This course equips the student with concepts of ergonomics, posture and physical activity from a health perspective. It provides knowledge on the basics of movement mechanics and energy expenditure, posture-effects, need for physical activity, assessment of associated health risks and strategies for Health promotion.

Generic Elective: Physical Health
(Offered under choice based credit system to other departments)
This course makes the learner understand the essence and importance of physical activity and related disorders.
