About the Department / Program
The Department of Bioinformatics, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research was started in the 2003 with the aim of catering to the emerging needs of the scientific community. The department offers, Master of Science degree in Medical Bioinformatics in a credit based system and is based on an internationally accepted curriculum, with specialties such as genomics, proteomics, drug designing, data mining, artificial intelligence, HPC, Cloud computing, systems biology. The department has ISO 9001:2008 accreditation and is equipped with a state of art infrastructure such as grid computing setup, high end nodes & high speed internet connectivity. The department has R3 world class lab system with a regular lab, commercial software lab and skills lab for fostering novel projects. In addition to qualified and experienced faculty members, eminent visiting faculties also handle classes on various domains of bioinformatics.
