International Women’s Day
Every year International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8th of March. It is a global day celebrating the social , economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call for acceleration of general parity. This day is about unity, celebration, reflection, advocacy and action. International Women’s Day is being observed since 1909. From 1975 IWD is being celebrated on 8th of March. Since 1996 an annual theme is adopted by the United Nations. International Women’s Day is being celebrated by the SRCWA at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University) by organizing workshops, panel discussions, seminars, debates, competitions and speeches by eminent women personalities.
