Dent(ART)ist

Art is a part of dentistry and dental materials are used on daily basis for restoring ./smiles on the patients. For a change, the Faculty of Dental Sciences planned to utilize these materials to create smiles on the persons viewing it and thus the program “Dent(ART)ist” , a competition focusing on art using dental materials evolved. The program was conducted on 25/01/2019 ahead of Republic day with concept of “National Integrity” for undergraduate students from first year BDS to internship. Twenty seven teams comprising of seventy nine(79) students enrolled for the program. The teams were divided into Preclinical with first year and second year students, and Clinical from third year to internship. The teams were given two hours duration for fabrication of models related to National integrity with the materials used in dentistry only. Three prizes were given for the best models from Preclinical teams and two for the Clinical teams. The models displayed had immense amount of appreciation from students, faculty and the common people.
