Triathlon 2019

The Student Council 2018-19 decided to take their annual mega event up a notch this time with the Triathlon’ 19 which took place on the 17th of March at SRIHER.

The race was planned with the idea of raising awareness on Mental Health.
The previous years had seen a similar race comprising of running and cycling (Duathlon). To make things more fun and interesting, this year a third sport- ‘obstacle course racing’ was included.

The race was structured as a 5 legged relay which comprised of the following legs:
Leg 1- 1500m
Leg 2- Obstacle Course 1 (300m with 6 obstacles)
Leg 3- cycling (2.5km)
Leg 4- Obstacle Course 2 (300m with 6 obstacles)
Leg 5- 500m
The faculty and students across the entire college got together to form teams of 5 comprising of 4 students and 1 faculty.
A total number of 164 teams registered.

The race was flagged off at 7:30 am by our chief guest Srikar Bharath, a professional cricketer.
The participants raced against each other; running , cycling and conquering obstacles to make it across the finish line as fast as they could.
The top 3 teams were awarded with medals and cash awards of Rs. 5000 , Rs. 2500 and Rs. 1500 respectively.

Chief guests Somdev Devvarman and Srikar Bharath awarded the prizes to the winners.
The prize distribution was followed by breakfast.
Participation certificates were given to all the participants.
