Ignitra ’17, the 2017 edition of Sri Ramachandra University’s Annual Cultural Fest

Ignitra ’17, the 2017 edition of Sri Ramachandra University’s Annual Cultural Fest was held on the 26th, 27th, 28th of September 2017. Minor cultural were held on the 8th, 11th, 12th of September 2017 under the banner “Netru Indru Naalai”. The Sports Events were succesfully conducted under the name Olympus.

The Olympus inauguration saw the Deans, Assistant deans and guests like Ms. Shiny Wilson, Mr.Aravind Patel, Ms. Bhavani Devi gracefully announcing the sports meet open on the 9th of August, 2017.

The Western Dance competition took place on the 26th, the musical night on the 27th and the Indian performances on the 28th from 5:00 pm to 11 p.m on both the days and it extended to 1:00 pm on the final day.

Netru Indru Naalai was a three day extravaganza that helped all the students from various departments display their talents and enjoy the performances that were put up. The judgement was fair and it was judged by faculties from all the departments and experienced personnels who were especially known for that particular talent. The points were put up in the facebook page ‘Ardorianz’ and outside the auditorium at the end of each day.

The top three holders were:
1. Mafia 2. Wizards 3. Desperados

The hall echoed electrifying cheers for the performances that were showcased on the Western Night. Judges for this night were emminent choreographers from the Dream Team. The event was compered by Sameena and the guests for the night included Saranya, Ramya Nambeesan, Senthil, As I am Suffering from Kadhal team, mime Gopi, Bose Venket.

The Day 2 saw the medley of Indian and western music for 12 mins allotted for each department. Judges were notable Music director and Ghaana Vinoth And our very own Thiagarajan Sir. The MC for the night was a RJ from Radio Mirchi and some of the guests were Anupama, Ashwin, Simon, Laloo, Sekar

The final day saw a spree of crowd as they witnessed the colourful Indian dance performances showcased by more than 16 departments. The judges for the night were Vijay Tv Kings of Dance Fame. Some of guests for the night were Ineyaa, Thanu, Nithin Sathya, Kaniha.

The Caduceus Magazine was released by the Assistant Deans and faculties present. This year’s theme was ,” The Legend of Kingdoms”. Caduceus pages were filled with artistic and literary talents of the students across the various departments and they were awarded points for contribution.

The overall was announced with sheer excitement and the results were:

Ignitra ’17 presented by the Ardorianz from Xanthrons was applauded for its grandeur and the class of entertainment that was showcased. The set was made in the theme of Kingdoms and the guests applauded for the quality of the culturals that took place.

The students and faculties were happy for the fact that the Sports and Cultural event were conducted fairly after a long time, with transparency in all forms. The event was made a success with the help of Management, Deans, Assistant Deans, Organizing batch from all departments, Participants and the ever lively audience. It was Ignitra ’17 that ignited the month of September!
