Oral Hygiene Awareness Week

The Oral Hygiene Day was celebrated on 01.08.2021 to commemorate the birth anniversary of  Dr.Shankwalkar, the doyen and founder of the Indian Society of Periodontology . The Department of Periodontology and Implantology, SRIHER celebrated the Oral Hygiene Awareness week from 02.08.2021 to 07.08.2021. The post graduates educated the patients and general public on the importance of oral hygiene and its relationship with the overall systemic health.  Our under graduate students (III year)   prepared an awareness video for the National level video making competition for patient education highlighting correct dental practices. Our students won the First place in the competition organized by K.M. Shah Dental College, Vadodara. The Faculty also prepared a 2min video on busting common dental myths as a part of the competition organized by the ISP and Govt Dental College, Mumbai. These informative videos were streamed for the patients and public visiting the department. The patients also participated in an innovative dart game organized by the department and were awarded oral hygiene aids as prizes on winning. A specially designed souvenir was distributed to all the Faculty of the Dental College on this occasion.
