The department deals with the first three years of undergraduate students by imparting the basics of developmental and histological aspects of the tooth, oral and para-oral structures. The undergraduate BDS students are exposed to the study of Oral Histology, Oral Embryology and Tooth morphology in their first year. Continuous video demonstrations of life size wax tooth carvings are shown to the students on a Plasma TV. Binocular microscopes of high precision are used for teaching activity of histological and pathological microscopic slides. All faculty in the department have undergone Faculty development program. At the postgraduate level a three year program is offered to the students which make the candidate proficient in routine cytological and histopathological procedures. Knowledge about recent sophisticated research instrumentation is also imparted to the students. .
