Shrimathi.KamalamRamasamy, wife of Founder - Chancellor Shri.N.P.V.RamasamyUdayar, affectionately called ‘Amma’ by the Sri Ramachandra Family, was known for her affection towards the faculty and staff of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University) and her concern for their welfare. One common value she nurtured with the Founder – Chancellor was to give and keep giving to those in need. She was well known for her generous and kind hospitality.
The Sri Ramachandra Centre for Women’s Advancement (SRCWA) decided to honor her by naming the Child Care Centre at the University Campus after her. The Kamalam Child Care Centre(KCCC), was inaugurated on 10/4/2017. This is a facility where faculty and staff of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University), who require daycare of their young children can avail of a safe and friendly, on campus facility. We believe this will allow staff and faculty to be more productive at work knowing, that their children are in safe hands.
KCCC is housed in a fenced building located on the ground floor, adjacent to the tennis court in the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University) campus. The plinth area of the centre is around 2000/-sq feet with dinning hall, reception area, sleep room, play room, activities area with child friendly toilets. All the rooms have natural and artificial light with air conditioner. Protective electrical covers are placed in electrical outlets. The indoor space will be used only for children care. CCTV facilities are provided for surveillance.
