Dr. Vinod Pallath, Visiting Faculty, DEU, SRDC& H, SRIHER (DU),Assistant Professor, Medical Education and Research Development Unit (Merdu), Univ ofMalaya, Malaysia addressed the students. The session was attended by 226 delegatesincluding participants from undergraduate students and faculties of SRDC&H.Dr. Vinod enlightened the audience about identifying the most effective way to learn in theirunique learning environment and improve their learning efficiency.

    TF, funds comprehensive Cleft lip and palate rehabilitation and was co-founded in 1998 by Jacquline Elton. Registrar Prof Roopa madam was instrumental in our MoU and since our MoU in 2005, team from Dental College and Faculty of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology have been rendering services to the cleft patients from the adopted three districts across Tamil Nadu namely Thiruvannamalai, Cuddalore and Kanchipuram. Jackie Elton, along with Neeti Daftari (Program Manager, Global Initiatives), paid a visit to SRIHER on 31.01.2024. The TF team was impressed with the progress of the project and the commitment of the SRIHER team.

    Smt. Kamalam Udayar Mobile Mammography Bus - Screening on Wheels, was inaugurated on 22.07.2023 (Saturday) at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed University). This bus has a mammogram unit for detecting early cancerous changes in breast, ultrasound unit and facilities to take pap smear for early detection of cervical cancer. The inauguration was held amidst the august presence of Mrs. V. Amudhavalli IAS, Commissioner of Social welfare (Govt of Tamil Nadu), Dr. Uma Sekar, Vice Chancellor, SRIHER, Rtn. Mr. Anirudh Roy Chowdry, Rotary International director, and Rtn. Dr. Nandakumar, District governor. This project worth Rs. 2.85 crore sponsored by the Rotary club, Vadapalani will be dedicated to serve unprivileged women. The mobile cancer detection bus will be in service for the downtrodden women across Tamil Nadu facilitated by the doctors of SRIHER.

The occasion was graced by Padma Shri Prof.(Dr).Mahesh Verma, Vice-Chancellor, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Chairman, National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare  Providers (NABH), Professor Emeritus, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences; Guest of Honour, Dr.V.Rangarajan, Immediate past President, Indian Prosthodontic Society, Prof (Dr).Mahesh Vakamudi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, SRIHER(DU), Prof.(Dr).H.Thamizhchelvan, Dean, Sri Ramachandra Dental College. The oration was attended by 326 delegates that included the Deans of constituent colleges, Associate Deans-SRIHER, Head of various departments, faculties, and students of Sri Ramachandra Dental College. Prof.(Dr). Mahesh Verma, delivered the Oration on “Blue Riband Dental Care, Blending Quality and Innovation.” After a brief video of Tmt.Janaki M.G.R, the oration stressed upon the importance of quality in dental care and the 10 commandments to ensure the best possible care in rendering to the beneficiaries.

    Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was felicitated by SRM Dental college- Ramapuram for having won the overall championship at the recently concluded program called Surgical Strike 4.0 Cash prize, trophy and certificate was received by the members of the student council, the faculty incharge of interns and the head of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
