Pharmaceutical Chemistry is the study of the molecular and mechanistic aspects of pharmaceuticals. The discipline emphasizes the chemistry of drug design and development, drug action, drug transport, drug delivery and targeting. The development of new pharmaceuticals is critically dependent on a molecular-level understanding of biological processes and mechanisms of drug action. Progress in the field now depends on the design and synthesis of new molecules using tools such as structure activity relationships, combinatorial chemistry and computer-aided drug design.
A bachelor’s program in pharmacy , pertaining to Pharmaceutical Chemistry will emphasize the molecular basis underlying the creation of new drugs and health applications of bioactive compounds.
Quality assurance is the systematic monitoring and evaluation of the various aspects of a project, service or facility to maximize the probability that minimum standards of quality are being attained by the production process. It also includes regulation of the quality of raw materials, assemblies, products and components, services related to production , management, and inspection processes.
A masters program in quality assurance will emphasize the bulk drug technology, product development, quality control and functions, International guidelines, drug regulatory affairs and intellectual property right.
Pharmaceutical analysis includes a series of process for identification, determination, quantification and purification of substance, separation of the components and determination of structures of chemical compounds. It supports pharmaceutical product development from early development to manufacture.
A masters program in pharmaceutical analysis will emphasize the characterization of chemical entities, development and validation of new analytical techniques in drug discovery, Food and drug analysis, Herbal analysis, Counterfeit medicine analysis, Impurities screening and QC testing services.
The major objective of the department is to enlighten the requisite skills, develop the desired competencies and meet the pharmaceutical care standards embraced by the faculty in the teaching of their courses. This led us to impart quality education in this great institution.
