CENTRE FOR DISEASES RELATED TO LIFE STYLE MODIFICATION & THEIR PREVENTION

Aim: To identify risk factors conducive to vascular disease affecting target organs at population level to curtail or prevent premature acute vascular events at young age, causing morbidity and mortality and to intervene them in a holistic manner with non pharmacological and pharmacological methods.

Focus:

  1. The strategy is directed towards identifing modifiable risk factors and intervene them by multiprong method (ie) smoking, obesity, systemic hypertension, pre diabetic and diabetic, dyslipidemia, unhealthy food habit, sedentary life and psychological factors.
  2. Identification of patients with heart failure to evaluate them to quantify the magnitude of ventricular dysfunction and to advise them with protocol as per international guidelines.

Core area of research: Population study of Urban and Rural and Semi urban regions for the detection of prevalence of risk factors and occult and overt Endovascular disease and to intervene with Holistic Method - PURSE-HIS Cohort Study – Preventive strategy

Facility: 2500 Sq.ft area is created by management of SRIHER in basement area of Faculty of Dental Sciences Building with specially designed by cabinets related to epidemiological study. It is equipped with following equipments (bought under funding from Different source), manpower from different funding sources.
