Kamalam Child Care Centre started in the SRU campus - On 9th April
Shrimathi.Kamalam Ramasamy, wife of founder Chancellor Shri.N.P.V.Ramasamy Udayar, was a very soft, kind hearted human soul. She was personally interested in the welfare of the faculty and staff of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University). The Sri Ramachandra Centre for Women's Advancement (SRCWA) decided to honour her by naming the Child Care Centre at the Univeristy Campus after her. The Kamalam Child care Centre (KCCC), was inaugurated on 10/4/2017. This is a facility where faculty and staff of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University), who require childcare, can avail of a safe and friendly on campus facility. We believe this will allow staff and faculty to be more productive at work knowing, that their children are in safe hands.
KCCC is a fenced building located in the ground floor, adjacent to the Tennis court of the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University) campus. The plinth area of the centre is around 2000sq feet with dinning hall, reception area, sleep room ,play room activities area with child friendly toilet. All the rooms have natural and artificial light with air conditioner. Protective electrical covers are placed in electrical outlets. The indoor space will be used only for children care. CCTV facilities are present.
The mission of the KCCC is to
- Provide a safe, caring, healthy, friendly environment for children of faculty and staff
- To foster development and provide opportunities for creative, cognitive and imaginative play for children
Programme & Activities
The staff of the KCCC will be responsible for activities at the centre. These will be reviewed and monitored in consultation with parents, day care staff and other committee members.
The programme will include age appropriate activities that are stimulating and safe for a child. These are designed to foster learning, play, social skills and healthy good habits. Activities will include Sand pit play /wash for children, prayer, snack time,lunch time, play, excursions, Group activities, Rest and exercise .
