Apart from the specialty specific subjects, faculty members are involved in teaching the general subjects like Nursing education, Advanced nursing practice, Nursing research & Biostatistics and Nursing management,Communication and Education Technology, Anatomy, Physiology and Nursing Foundation, Advanced skills in Leadership, Managenet and teaching and Foundation of Critical Care Nursing Practice . Other students who benefit from teaching include undergraduate students of Trauma Care management, Allied Health Sciences, Physiotherapy and Specch Language and Hearing Sciences.

  • 2nd State Workshop on “Test Construction”, SRU on 9/12/2017.

  • National workshop on “Simulation in Nursing Education” on 7.1.2020 -8.1.2020
Achievements
  • Established  Mental health nursing lab for improving skill among the nursing students. It is more than requirement of our apex body
  • The student competency check lists prepared by the department faculty members are utilized to evaluate each student’s skill development in the clinical areas.
  • Conducted clinical instructors competency training program to imprve clinical competency for guiding the students in their clinical area.
  • Online feedback from students at the end of each clinical posting help to rectify students learning deficiencies.
  • Organized National Psychiatric Nursing Conference with ICMR grant,October 2016

Innovative teaching
  • Rapid Review program for Postgraduate students was organized for both in-house and students of other institutions within Chennai. This helped the students to review the important concepts prior to their university examination.
  • The skills lab of the department focuses on improving skill development among students. The required equipments along with the procedure is provided in the self -learning desk for a student to practice and enhance his / her skill and knowledge component.
