CRRI Orientation
All final year M.B.B.S students who successfully qualify in their University exam will begin their internship training. On the first day of their internship, the students are addressed by the Vice-Chancellor, Dean –Medical College, Dean –Students, Associate Dean Students and the CRRI-In charge. A broad overview of the training for the next one year, rules and regulations, documentation / log book maintenance are provided to the students. The students are divided into six groups and the sequence of postings in various departments is informed. The credentialing process for the students to begin their training is completed by the officials concerned. Subsequently the students begin their two day training workshop on essential skills.


CRRI Skills training
The two day workshop primarily focuses on instilling few essential skills to the interns before they are involved in patient care under supervision. Each participant gets the opportunity to perform the skill in a mannequin under the guidance of the supervising faculty. Some of the skills imparted are Ryle’s tube insertion, urinary catheterization, suturing wounds, IV access, administering injections, ECG, ABG, Imaging interpretation, lab data interpretation, Blood transfusion & safe practices. They are also trained in prescription writing, case sheet documentation and communication skills. Feedback is taken from the interns and the participating faculty so that the orientation program can be improved upon in the subsequent years. At the end of the two day workshop, the interns move to their respective postings and begin their internship training.
