Paediatric Nursing
Clinical focus
Faculty and students are engaged in assessments, preventive actions pertaining to disease condition and provision of quality nursing care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient units. Students incorporate nursing care process through logical / critical thinking and decision making in various neonatal and pediatric settings. Culturally sensitive family centered holistic nursing care is ensured.
Students execute research activities for social and professional developments.
The Department observes significant days like World Breast Feeding Week, Children’s day, Adolescents day, Pediatric Surgical Awareness day, childhood cancer awareness day, World arthritis day, Organizes Continuing Nursing Education Programme, Field Visits and Camp in collaboration With the Department of Peadiatric Medicine
The pediatric nursing course has provision for integration of theory and practice the clinical teaching includes multiple strategies like nursing conference, nursing rounds, clinical presentation, demonstration, field visit, health education, case study, nursing process application clinical teaching and group discussion. The students have close supervision in the clinical area by the faculty members.
