Clinical focus
In house clinical facilities are a backbone to link theory into practice. Clinical area with surplus variety of clinical conditions promotes ideal learning for both undergraduates and post graduates. Students’ gains experience in the antenatal OPD, antenatal ward, Labour room, OT, Postnatal ward, Gynaecological ward, family welfare clinic, Infertility clinic and community both rural and urban area. Class rooms attached clinical area promotes conducive learning atmosphere. Case presentation, clinical demonstration, simulation based learning and competency based learning, care studies, bed side rounds , clinical conference are few methods to impart clinical teaching to the students. A faculty and students ratio of 1:8 beyond the prescribed INC norm of 1: 10 faculty student ratio facilitates to provide individual attention to students
Department runs mother craft clinic at antenatal OPD on daily basis. Both antenatal and postnatal mother receives information on the aspects of antenatal, intra natal, postnatal, new born care, and family planning, which are imparted through videos in a small group.
