Supervisory training is provided for individual and group psychotherapy and counseling before introducing the students to integrate different therapeutic approaches.As part of the curriculum, the M. Phil trainees are posted in other specialties like Psychiatry, Neurology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Oncology and Pediatrics in enhancing their clinical experience. They are exposed to community work at Counselling centre Vayalanallur RHTC. The students are also involved in school mental health programme at Government Higher Secondary School, Perungudi.
