We extend our services in the chair side investigations for emergency conditions like suspected malignant lesions, soft tissue biopsy and hematologic workup, oral health education, and preventive care for tobacco users. The specialty offers oral and maxillofacial radiology and advanced imaging modalities services to diagnose the dental and maxillofacial diseases. The Oral Medicine Outpatient clinic receives a referral from a variety of medical disciplines including Medicine, surgery, oncology, orthopedics, dermatology, and ophthalmology for evaluation of oral focal sepsis. The department cares for the in-patients whose oral condition affects the underlying systemic illness.
For a good understanding, Oral Medicine and Radiology is a dental specialty that focuses on the underlying disease process of orofacial complications and how best to medically manage and improve the quality of life.
