The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology is a specialty of dentistry that is trained to both diagnose and medically manage the oral health conditions. Our clinical services majorly involves the diagnosis, medical management and follow up care for patients presenting with oral mucosal lesions, potentially malignant and malignant lesions of oral cavity, and oral manifestations of autoimmune disorders, TMJ disorders, orofacial and neurological pain. We extend our services in the chair side investigations for emergency conditions like suspected malignant lesions, soft tissue biopsy and hematologic workup, oral health education, and preventive care for tobacco users. The specialty offers oral and maxillofacial radiology and advanced imaging modalities services to diagnose the dental and maxillofacial diseases. The Oral Medicine Outpatient clinic receives a referral from a variety of medical disciplines including Medicine, surgery, oncology, orthopedics, dermatology, and ophthalmology for evaluation of oral focal sepsis. The department cares for the in-patients whose oral condition affects the underlying systemic illness.
