About the Department / Program
Department of conservative dentistry and endodontics came into existence in the year 1995 and Postgraduation was started in the year 2000. The mission of our department is to promote health care, provide education on par with international standards and pursue excellence in patient management.

We provide a plethora of treatments ranging from direct and indirect tooth restorations, vital and on-vital Bleaching, esthetic veneers, non-surgical and surgical root canal treatment, re- treatment of failed endodontically treated teeth, aesthetic rehabilitation, smile designing and surgical endodontics with state-of-the-art infrastructure using LASERS and Dental Operating microscopes

The department boasts of fully air-conditioned 20678 sq ft area with electrically operated dental chair (47 chairs for UG clinic and 21 chairs for PG clinic) fitted with all sophisticated equipments. We have digital X-ray facility, microsurgical operatory, LASERS and a dedicated diet counselling and caries prevention clinic.
Standard of care:
Hygienic patient care is imparted throughout. Disposable materials are used during the treatment. Universal precautions with strict Infection control measures are followed for operator and patient safety. Regular fumigation of the department is performed every week to ensure high level of sterilisation and disinfection.

Expertise:
Our department excels in having faculties who are pursuing their PhD and faculty who are guides for internal and external PhD students. All the faculties are actively involved in laboratory and clinical research.

Student Education and Training:
The students are trained under the watchful guidance and expertise of the competent faculties. Students are exposed to clinical observations along with theory and practical classes to equip them to perform comprehensive patient care procedures.

We have been accredited by the NAAC, Malaysian Dental Council, Sri Lankan Dental Council.
The department provides treatment to more than half of the total OPD census of the patients reporting to Sri Ramachandra Dental college and Hospitals. We deliver quality health care which has been reflected ubiquitously in patient feedback over the years.
