About the Department / Program
The Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry provides pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training in comprehensive oral health care for pediatric patients. This department deals with the treatment and prevention of oral diseases in infants,children, and adolescents including children with special health care needs. The department thrives to achieve a high and ethical standard of practice, promotion of education, and research in pediatric dentistry. Our clinics provide comprehensive oral health examinations, teeth cleaning, fluoride treatments, sealants, restorative procedures (fillings, crowns, etc.), extractions, minor surgical procedures, space-maintainers, interceptive orthodontics and trauma management. We also render rehabilitative treatment under general anesthesia for very young children with special health care needs.
