About the Department

The department of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism was created in 2005. The Department focuses on diabetes, obesity and diseases of the endocrine glands, like thyroid and adrenal gland. A scope of services is provided below.

Prof. Krishna G Seshadri is the head of the department. Dr. Seshadri is an American Board Certified endocrinologist with over 15 years of experience in clinical care, research, and teaching. He is a recipient of the PN Shah oration of the Endocrine Society and is a member of the graduate curriculum subcommittee of the Medical Council of India. In addition, he is an advisory board member of the Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism and an associate editor of the Indian Thyroid Journal.

The department focuses on clinical care and translational research and teaching. It has an active Ph.D. program.

The department has a free clinic in the medical college hospital that focuses on diabetes, paediatric and adult endocrinology and a clinic in the university medical centre.
