About the Department

The Department was started in the year 1994. Since then rapid strides has been made. A well-furnished outpatient department is available. Two dedicated modern operation theatres are available equipped with all modern equipment, instruments and trained staff nurses. The neurosurgery intensive care unit is well-equipped and is being managed by trained staff nurses. A state-of-the-art cath lab with biplane machine is available to manage all types of cerebrovascular disorders. Round the clock, personnel is available to manage both inpatients, outpatients as well as emergency surgeries.
The Department of Neurosurgery indisputably to an advanced centre for microneurosurgery and microvascular surgery, in particular widened its field of services to functional Neurosurgery and interventional therapy for Neurovascular disorders with the addition of a new modern Neurocathlab with state-of-the-art facilities.
On an average the outpatient attendance of patients is about 62 per working day and the average number of major neurosurgical operations carried out is around 460 per year (2014).
