BASIC RESEARCH
Since diabetes plays a significant role for the increased incidence of coronary artery disease and acute coronary syndrome the following studies are undertaken.
To study efficacy and safety of Alternate medicine for diabetes mellitus and hypertension which are the two primary risk factors for coronary artery disease.
Preclinical evaluation of Madhumega choornam (MMC) to control blood sugar in type 2 diabetes both in-vivo & in-vitro study.
Preclinical evaluation of Venthamarai choir AM (VMC) to control blood sugar in type 2 diabetes both in-vivo & in-vitro study.
A clinical trial of MMC on randomly selected type 2 diabetes with moderate elevation of blood sugar.
Study to be started for comparative evaluation of Metformin and MMC in a double-blind randomized design.
EPIDEMIOLOGICAL RESEARCH Purse His Study: “Population Study of Urban, Rural and Semi-urban regions to study the prevalence of risk factors conducive to premature vascular disease and detection of both occult and overt Endovascular disease to intervene in a Holistic manner”. (2007 to till date) Phase I – 2007 to 2011 Phase II – 2012 – 2015 Phase III – 2015 – March 2017
