Training:Theory:3 – 4 classes per week consisting of Seminars, case discussions, journal clubs & video clubs, operative urology, discussions, Uro-radiology & uro-pathology meetings and renal transplant meetings. The candidates are encouraged to attend conferences, workshops, and master-classes held elsewhere to widen their knowledge.Special skill simulation labs:For laparoscopy training and PCNLSurgical training:Ample exposure to different urological surgeries is given.Research:One dissertation and at least one publication are mandatory. Presentation of research papers in conferences is also essential part of curriculum.Results so far: 100%Post-MCh Career:All passed out candidates are having successful urology career. Three are in teaching hospitals. Another one is a Consultant in Singapore. Others have established busy urology practice in Private hospitals in India.
Scope of the Program: The program involves imparting a brief theoretical knowledge of Urology and training in and exposure to different equipments, accessories, technologies and procedures used in urology. The candidates after completion of training will be capable of doing urodynamics and extra-corporeal shock wave lithotripsy, handling urological endoscopes, assisting in urology procedures, and helping in urology patient management both in out-patient and in-patient settings.Teachers / Faculty Training:The various training programs on teaching methodologies conducted by Sri Ramachandra University.The Faculty members are also encouraged to attend and participate in Urology workshops and Urology fellowship programs from time to time to update their knowledge and skills.
