Pulmonary Rehabilitation Centre
The department of Pulmonary (Respiratory) Medicine of Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute (DU) has started the Pulmonary Rehabilitation centre.
Sri Ramachandra rehabilitation centre is a fully equipped ( treadmill, upper body ergometer, light weight dumbbells etc) state of the art centre managed by well trained personnel.

What Is Pulmonary Rehabilitation?
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is an integral part of the clinical management and it is a structured program of exercise and education for those patients with chronic respiratory disease who remains symptomatic or continue to have decreased function despite standard medical treatment.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is an outpatient program for patients with chronic lung disease, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD), chronic bronchitis, emphysema, bronchial asthma interstitial lung disease etc who have respiratory symptoms like cough, breathlessness that result in decreased daily activities or a decrease in health related quality of life. Pulmonary rehabilitation is designed to reduce the symptoms and stabilize lung disease.
The pulmonary rehabilitation program is conducted by a multidisciplinary team which includes Respiratory physician, physiotherapist, respiratory therapist, psychiatrist / psychologist, nutritionist, nurse and a yoga therapist. All are trained in pulmonary rehabilitation.
