General Medicine

Outreach and community activities
The department of medicine has regular In-station and Outstation community camps. The department has adopted 4 villages. Annual camps in the memory of our Founder Chancellor is held at Rasipuram. Other outstation health screening camps were at Thiruchengodu, Guruvayour, Ariyalur, Punnainagar, Thiruchendur, Periaobulapuram, Srirangam, Uthukkottai, Dinhiata (West Bengal).

Department has also participated in the National Disaster Relief (flood) camps conducted in Kashmir in December 2014, over a period of 4weeks.

In 2015, we have actively taken part in the city flood relief camps, conducted in December 2015 & January 2016. Joining hands with the state government, our department also extended a philanthropic hand, in distributing rice to the tribes along the banks of Madhurantagam Lake, catering to a village predominantly involving the Narikuruva tribal community.

Our Extension activities aim at screening various medical problems, along with providing primary health care.
Our clinical services in medical center have been recognized by JCI AND NABH.
